Defuniak Springs Family Dental Hosts Give Kids a Smile Day
On July 19, 2024, Defuniak Springs Family Dental hosted our annual Give Kids a Smile Day. The event provides children in need in our community with free dental services, including exams, radiographs, cleanings, sealants, silver diamine fluoride, and fluoride applications.
This year, we reached a significant milestone: We provided free same-day dental care to over 150 needy children! Thanks to the tireless efforts of our team and partners, the Children’s Volunteer Health Network, Blue Water Oral Surgery, and Sandy Smiles, no child was turned away.
Services were provided by a dedicated team of five dentists, seven hygienists, six dental assistants, two pediatric dentists, two oral surgeons, one orthodontist, and multiple non-clinical volunteers, all united in their commitment to ensuring access to quality oral health care for all children. Some dental specialists traveled from as far as Houston, Texas, to support this event and share in our mission to help children and families achieve healthy and bright smiles.
Our DeFuniak Springs Family Dental location proudly served children from near and far! Hometowns included DeFuniak, Crestview, Bonifay, Santa Rosa, Ponce De Leon, Cottondale, Freeport, Milton, and Chipley. This remarkable outreach spans an astonishing 3,019 miles, making a tangible impact on the oral health of our community’s youngest members.
