Dr. Collin Myrick
Dr. Collin Myrick, with deep roots in Walton County, combines his Auburn University education and University of Texas School of Dentistry training with a heartfelt commitment to enhancing dental care in DeFuniak Springs, drawing inspiration from his team’s collective dedication to patient education and community health.
Dr. Grant Marcantel
Dr. Grant Marcantel’s path took him from Texas A&M to the University of Texas School of Dentistry, where he met both a lifelong friend and his future wife, Dr. Esmeralda Marcantel. Now at DeFuniak Springs, he’s excited to trade Houston traffic for Florida’s beaches and bring his love for dentistry and community care to his new home.
Dr. Joe Zwickel
Dr. Joseph Zwickel, who started his journey in Kansas City and sharpened his skills in Ohio, brings a down-to-earth approach to dentistry coupled with a passion for learning and excellence.
Dr. Esmeralda Marcantel
Dr. Esmeralda Marcantel’s love for dentistry started in Houston, leading her from a high school dental assistant certificate to advanced degrees in dental hygiene and surgery at the University of Texas. Alongside her husband Grant, also one of our dentists, she brings her dedication and passion for excellent dental care to the DeFuniak Springs community.

One of the unique things about the Defuniak Springs Family Dental is the staff. They are honestly the most personable and friendly people I have met! I genuinely feel so at ease during my appointments. They are very observant and considerate of your tolerance whether it be pain levels or any other part of a regular cleaning! Another thing I love is that Dr. Myrick always comes in and checks out your teeth and gives you helpful feedback. The hygienists instruct you on how to floss and truly take care of your teeth, which is something I never got from my last dentist. The front desk ladies are always so polite and efficient. Scheduling appointments are no hassle at all. Also, this is a super stylish and clean office. It makes for a comforting vibe for anyone who hates the dentist (like me!) I completely recommend this place whether it be for a child, or for an adult who just truly hates teeth cleaning- this place makes you feel at home. Coupled with the fact they send you reminder texts about appointments- but don’t spam you- I will never go to another dentist.
