Family Dentistry

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Absolutely hands down the greatest dental office! You are greeted with a smile, then Valerie, the hygienist is AMAZING!!!!! She cleaned my teeth after X-rays and no pain. Then there are no words to describe how kind the dentist was, very excited to have my dental care in their hands. ~ pat roberts

Our dentists and staff know that patients of all ages are what our dental practice is truly about. We love watching families grow over the years and feel great about their healthy and happy smiles.

Some of the procedures we use to keep our patients’ teeth and gum healthy include the following:

Cleanings

It’s been scientifically proven that overall health is tied to oral health. We are your partner in maintaining your healthy smile. We encourage our patients to schedule regular cleanings every 6 months in order for us to help you clean the harder-to-reach areas you may be missing in your daily home routine. Your hygiene appointment will include cleaning, flossing and polishing your teeth while encouraging consistent fluoride use, both in office and at home.

Oral Cancer screening

As part of every oral examination, our team will conduct a visual and manual screening of your mouth to check for abnormal gum tissue, bumps, or lumps – all potential warning signs of oral cancer. Detecting these signs as soon as possible gives us the best chance to treat potential problems and make sure your mouth and gums stay healthy.

Fillings

When tooth structure is defected or damaged due to decay, fracture, or trauma, a filling may be necessary to restore the function and aesthetics of your smile.

Crowns and Implants

When teeth are severely decayed, broken, or have had a root canal treatment, a crown is used to protect the remaining tooth structure. A crown works like a cover or a “cap” that will restore the tooth’s shape, size, function, and aesthetics.

Partial/Complete Dentures

A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth that is not attached to any remaining teeth or jawbones. Complete dentures are used when all teeth are missing. Removable partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain.

Extractions

At DeFuniak Springs Family Dental, we believe that the best teeth are the ones God gave you, so we will do everything we can to preserve them! However, when a tooth is too badly damaged or decayed to repair, we provide oral surgery services.

Mouth Guards/Night Guards

Dental night guards are often the treatment of choice for patients who have a history of grinding their teeth while they sleep. Also known as bruxism, tooth grinding typically occurs at night when patients have no way of knowing they even do it. Chronic bruxism can lead to several problems with teeth and even the jaw. If left untreated, bruxism can cause broken, chipped, or cracked teeth, headaches, and TMJ/TMD. Bruxism can be treated and should be done so early to avoid future problems.

We also make custom mouth guards for athletes that are designed specifically for your child’s teeth. These mouth guards provide protection while being comfortable for your athlete so they can better focus on winning the game!

Our dental team provides the preventative care needed by dental patients of all ages. To make an appointment, give us a call us at (850) 892-0866 or schedule an appointment online.
